Oscar Perez-Chairez is an award winning Mexican-American filmmaker born and raised in Austin, Texas. His first step into filmmaking was in his early years as a stage actor, where he learned to craft performances while sharpening his directing acumen. What followed was years as a documentary filmmaker, where he learned the principles of cinema. He continued his film making endeavors through college and received a BS in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin. Oscar’s time as an actor and his vérité filmmaking skills work together to create his unique approach and voice for storytelling and capturing emotion. When not making his own films, he is an avid director of photography, editor and photographer in the Austin area.
